2017 VALDEZ ICE CLIMBING FESTIVAL
The 2017 edition of the Valdez Ice Climbing Festival returns with more ice, more gear, and more fun.

• SCHEDULE •
Welcome reception & Mountainfilm, Valdez Civic Center, on the hill overlooking the harbor at 110 Clifton Court. Non-climbers rate: $10 at the door. Festival registration, single night film ticket sales, and beer garden opens at 6 p.m.; Films start at 7:30 p.m.
Climbing 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Womens Clinic - 10 a.m. - Noon
Alaska Mountaineering School Clinics
Dance Party at Valdez Civic Center, 110 Clifton Court, overlooking the harbor. Non-climber tickets available at the door, Live music and silent auction. $10. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Climbing 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Speed Climbing Competition, Noon
Bonfire Feast with fire and aerial silk performers at Old Town. From town, turn right just before Valdez Glacier Stream Bridge. Tickets include food, bonfire and entertainment. $20 at the door. All ages. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Climbing starts at 10 a.m. Bridal Veil, ice; Tunnel Wall, dry tooling.

A word about Gear and Gear Rentals
Ice Fest welcomes CAMP this year, bringing sets of shiny, new demo gear, Ice Fest participants should plan to bring their own gear (Boots, Crampons, Helmet and Harness) to the 2017 Valdez Ice Climbing Festival.
Alaska Mountaineering & Hiking rental gear
Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking is offering a weekend package rental deal. If you already have your own helmet, you can rent gear at a reduced rate. You can call and reserve gear to pick it up on Thursday 2/16 and return it by Tuesday 2/21. This is an amazing deal offered exclusively to participants! Act fast, last year AMH ran out of gear quickly!
