Friday

Welcome reception & Mountainfilm, Valdez Civic Center, on the hill overlooking the harbor at 110 Clifton Court. Non-climbers rate: $10 at the door. Festival registration, single night film ticket sales and beer garden opens at 6 p.m.; Films start at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday

Climbing 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

She Jumps Womens Clinics - 10 a.m.

Nova Glacier Guides Clinics - 1 p.m.

Dance Party at Eagles Hall, 121 Hazelet Ave. Opening slide shows with Kirsten Kremer and Ace Kvale, music by Tanana Rafters. Non-climber tickets available at the door, $10. Must be 21. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Sunday

Climbing 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Speed Climbing Competition, Noon

Bonfire Feast with fire and aerial silk performers at Old Town. Turn right just before Valdez Glacier Stream Bridge. Tickets include food, bonfire and entertainment. $10 at the door. All ages. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Monday

Climbing starts at 10 a.m. Briday Veil, ice; Tunnel Wall, dry tooling.

11 a.m. Dry Tooling Competition, Tunnel Wall

THE SCOOP ON GEAR & GEAR RENTALS

Ice festival participants will be required to bring their own gear (Boots, Crampons, Helmet and Harness) to the 2016 Valdez Ice Climbing Festival. There will be many ice tools for folks who don’t have their own.

Alaska Mountaineering & Hiking

Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking is offering a weekend deal: You can rent boots, crampons, and helmet for $36.00. If you have your own helmet, you can rent gear at the discounted rate of $27.50 You can call in reverse gear and pick it up on Thursday 2/11 and return it by Tuesday 2/16. This is an amazing deal offered exclusively to participants! Act fast, last year AMH ran out of gear quickly!

NOVA Glacier Guides:

NOVA Glacier Guides will also be offering a LIMITED amount of gear at the Festival. This will offered at the rate of $20.00/Day without being enrolled in one of NOVA’s clinics and $15.00 if enrolled in a NOVA clinic.
